Statement of Intent
We strive at Springfield School to provide a happy, safe and stimulating environment in which children develop a thirst for knowledge and a love of learning and the self-belief that anything is possible with hard work and commitment. We want them to become respectful members of society who are equipped to make positive choices throughout their lives to be the best they can be.
We are a friendly, welcoming and hard-working school and are proud of our inclusive philosophy. We firmly believe that every one of our pupils has the right to experience opportunities that will enable them to achieve the best they can and provide them with the solid foundations on which to build a happy and successful future.
We believe that all children learn best in a calm, well-ordered and welcoming environment in which they can build strong relationships with others and are encouraged to make positive choices and uphold school values.
We view all our pupils as individuals and make sure we do everything we can to meet their personal needs, recognising and celebrating the difference and diversity of our community.
We actively promote the importance of respect and this underpins everything that we do.
At Springfield our curriculum is designed to recognise children’s prior learning, provide first hand learning experiences and allow the children to develop interpersonal skills. We want our curriculum to extend beyond the daily provision of the National Curriculum and give the children opportunities of a wide range of experiences to help them build resilience and become creative, responsible learners. A programme of regular trips, residential visits, sporting events and visitors enrich classroom experience.
We use our QEGS Values (Question, Explore, Give and Succeed) to promote positive attitudes to learning which reflect the values and skills needed to promote responsibility for learning and future success.
