Well done to our new winners of the Springfield Spelling Bee Summer 2018.  It was a very tense afternoon at times, but everyone dug deep and produced some amazing spellings!  We even had to fetch a couple of dictionaries for the ‘head to heads’ as we had run out of words. Well done to those children who are through to the next round of the Springfield Spelling Bee!  The Grand Final will be held in the afternoon of next Tuesday (23rd May), so don’t forget to brush up on the new list of additional words, and anymore that you think may crop up.  Good luck everyone!  

  It’s that time again to find out who might become the new summer spelling champions of Springfield! Teachers will be sending spelling lists out this week for all year groups.  These are very similar to the lists from the Autumn Term, but as the children progress through the rounds there will also be additional words to learn. The Book Fair arrives in school on 21st November.  This time we have the children advertising and running it all;  great experience for our young entrepreneurs! Come and find us in the school library, from 3:30 to 4:30 – some great 1/2 price deals on offer, just in time for Christmas!

On Wednesday, 4th October, the year 4 children visited Tamworth Castle.  They had an excellent time and learnt all about life as a house servant for ‘my Lady’ – setting tables, polishing and sweeping.  They even discovered that salt was incredibly expensive in those days and had a ceremony all of its own!  The children also made pomanders out of oranges read more…

School Newsletter 5th September 2017

Congratulations to the children from last year’s Orangutans (now Pandas). They entered a poetry writing competition last term and we just found out on Friday that a number of them have been selected to have their poetry published! Well done to them all!
