Practise Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check Practise different ways of writing and remembering the words. Write each word in a sentence showing that you understand what the word means. Make a note of anything you didn’t understand or found tricky.

We had a fabulous day at Holmebrook Valley Park. Thanks to our brilliant guides we learnt loads about rivers; their different rates of flow, which parts were the deepest, what causes erosion and how a meander is created. This term we will be trialling our new No Nonsense Spelling Scheme.  The first thing that children and parents will notice is that the spelling sheets have changed a little. From next half-term the way spellings are taught at Springfield Junior School will be changing. Spellings will be taught as a class using the recommended Year 5 list.
