Congratulations to the children from last year’s Orangutans (now Pandas). They entered a poetry writing competition last term and we just found out on Friday that a number of them have been selected to have their poetry published! Well done to them all! On Wednesday 12 July 2017  Mr. Snowden will be in school to deliver the RSPB’s Bioblitz session to all year 6 pupils. All parents and carers in Year 4, Wednesday 28th June 2017 was the last day that Mrs. Williams’ class will have a swimming lesson. Earlier in the term, Mrs. Cormack’s class missed one of their sessions and so they will now swim on Wednesday 5th July and Wednesday 12th July. Our Young Voices choir have been invited to sing in an outdoor concert in Eureka Park on the evening of July 11th along with some other local choirs – both adult and child groups. The summer production is getting closer! All children in school have been learning the songs and are welcome to  come along and be part of the performances. This term we will be trialling our new No Nonsense Spelling Scheme.  The first thing that children and parents will notice is that the spelling sheets have changed a little. We are reducing the amount of spellings the children are to practise each week to no more than 6.  Instead, the children are expected to use the blank part of the read more…

On Thursday 15th June Springfield Junior School will be 80 years old. To celebrate this, the school council have voted to have a small picnic birthday party.
