It’s only 5 days until the Singapore Bar Workshop. Don’t forget to come along at 3:30 on Tuesday 23rd January to learn all about this new method of supporting the teaching and learning of mathematical skills.

On Tuesday 23rd January at 3:30 I will be holding a workshop to introduce parents and carers to the Singapore Bar. This is used to support the teaching and learning of Maths. It would be great if you could join us. Children are most welcome. N Staddon

Well done to staff for their ‘cash instead of cards’  – and parents for their kind donations at the Christmas Concert : we raised £125 for Breast Cancer Research.

The staff and children of Springfield Junior School would like to invite you to our Christmas Concert on Tuesday 19th December 2017. School will be open as usual tomorrow following the closure today. 24 Choir members performed in a Christmas Charity Concert at Gresley Methodist Church this evening.  We raised approximately £120 towards the total figure – fantastic! The Leeside Singers also sang  and the audience joined in with several carols. Our children were amazing and performed Seven songs ,a mixture of traditional carols and fun Christmas songs. Well done to all of our Super Springfield Spellers. Some fabulous spelling this morning, which saw Kian (yr6) and Daniel (yr4) winning our very first Spelling Bee Competition. It was very tense at times, with some really tricky words, especially in the knockout round! We were SO impressed with them all. Well done guys! Mrs Cormack

  A walking bus is a fun, healthy, safe and sustainable way of travelling to school. Powered by good, old-fashioned legwork, the children and volunteers walk in a group along a set route, picking up or dropping off ‘passengers’ at specific ‘bus stops’ on their journey to and from school. If any parents are interested in starting a walking bus please let the class teacher know.
