It’s been good to welcome everyone back to school after the Easter holidays and I must say that there are some very tanned and relaxed faces which tell me that the holidays were enjoyable!

I can’t believe how much we’ve managed to do this week and am relieved that we’ve made it to the weekend! Sincere thanks to FoS for organising last night’s Easter Bingo which raised the amazing total of £610 for school. It was a great night and lots of people went home with bags full of chocolate and Easter themed goodies.

Last week we were struggling with the “Beast from the East” and the snow and ice but I am pleased to say that everything is back to normal and we’re all back in our routines and working hard to catch up. It’s hard to believe that we’re only a couple of weeks away from spring following the snow and ice we’ve experienced this week! It has certainly caused chaos and although we made the decision to close school as a result of the weather we have been incredibly lucky in comparison to other parts of the country. It was lovely to see parents in school on Monday morning to join us for lessons; even if some of them did end up doing a Maths test! Governors have also been in school this week to carry out a Learning Walk to monitor learning behaviours and they commented on the calm and productive atmosphere in classes which is very read more…

I looked in my diary at the start of the week and was hopeful that I would be able to find time to catch-up on my long list of jobs but unfortunately my plans went awry and I’m rushing around trying to fit everything in!

When I wrote my blog last week I was feeling very excited about the prospect of going over to Birmingham for the Young Voices performance at the Genting Arena and I can confirm that it was an amazing night. I must say that I am very excited whilst writing this as our Young Voices choir have just left and I am off to Birmingham later to watch them perform at the Genting Arena in this year’s concert which I know will be amazing.
