I’ll keep this blog short and sweet as we’ve a busy week ahead and I have lots to prepare! The focus this week of course has been on the KS2 SATs which ran daily from Monday through to Thursday. It was lovely to be able to enjoy the sunshine over the bank holiday weekend and to have the chance to recharge our batteries ready for the busy weeks ahead before the half-term holiday. I must say that I am still smiling after this morning’s Super Student assembly when I presented over 80 certificates to pupils who have shown real commitment, determination and hard-work to fulfil the range of criteria. Spring has finally arrived and it’s been lovely to be able to get out in the sunshine at long last. I’m very pleased with the number of children who took the advice in my text this morning and arrived with sun hats, sunglasses, sun screen and plenty of water to keep them hydrated. It’s been good to welcome everyone back to school after the Easter holidays and I must say that there are some very tanned and relaxed faces which tell me that the holidays were enjoyable!

I can’t believe how much we’ve managed to do this week and am relieved that we’ve made it to the weekend! Sincere thanks to FoS for organising last night’s Easter Bingo which raised the amazing total of £610 for school. It was a great night and lots of people went home with bags full of chocolate and Easter themed goodies.

Last week we were struggling with the “Beast from the East” and the snow and ice but I am pleased to say that everything is back to normal and we’re all back in our routines and working hard to catch up.
